Milbank Announces 2025 New Partners

Milbank LLP is pleased to announce that 17 attorneys have been elected to the firm’s partnership effective January 1, 2025, marking one of its largest new partner classes.

Kelly P. Bartley is a member of the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Group. She counsels public and privately held companies, financial institutions, corporate executives, creditors’ committees and companies in financial distress on a broad array of executive compensation and employee benefit matters. She received her J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law and her B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is based in New York.

Martin Brennan is a member of the Alternative Investments Practice. He has extensive experience advising across a wide range of structured credit asset classes and the related regulatory frameworks in both the US and European markets, with his practice centering primarily on CLOs, private credit financing structures and esoteric ABS transactions. He received his LL.M. from University College London and a B.C.L. from the University of Galway. He is based in New York.

Rachel Croft is a member of the Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. She represents sponsors, borrowers, lenders, export credit agencies and other parties in all aspects of project development and finance, particularly in the energy sector. Ms. Croft received her Bachelors in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford and her L.P.C. from BPP University Law School. She is based in London.

Seyda Duman is a member of the Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. She has extensive experience advising commercial banks, export credit agencies, other multilateral finance institutions and project sponsors on a variety of cross-border project financings in various industries and sectors. Ms. Duman received her B.A. (Hons) and M.A. from the University of Cambridge, her Legal Practice Certificate from Oxford Institute of Legal Practice and her LL.M. from the Institute of Law and Finance, Johann Wolfgang Goethe – Universität, Frankfurt. She is based in London.

Miguel Duran is a member of the Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. He represents debt and equity financing parties, sponsors and other project participants in the development, financing, acquisition, workout and disposition of renewable energy facilities and other infrastructure projects in the United States and Latin America. Mr. Duran earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law where he was a managing editor of the UCLA Law Review, his D.M.A and M.M. from University of Southern California, and his B.M. from CM Jesus Guridi. He is based in Los Angeles.

Tristram Gargent is a member of the European Leveraged Finance/Capital Markets Group. He has extensive experience advising the full range of stakeholders across the capital structure, including asset managers, hedge funds, alternative capital providers, banks, private equity sponsors and corporates, on restructuring, special situations, direct lending and leveraged finance transactions, often involving complex and bespoke debt instruments and intercreditor structures. Mr. Gargent received his LLB from University College London. He is based in London.

Thomas Goslin is a member of the Global Corporate/M&A Group. He focuses on a range of environmental and social concerns in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, financing transactions, infrastructure projects and corporate restructurings. Mr. Goslin earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law and his B.A. from John Carroll University. He is based in Washington, DC.

Rhys Howard is a member of the Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. He has extensive experience advising project sponsors, commercial banks, export credit agencies, multilateral and development finance institutions, private equity funds, institutional investors and other key stakeholders on a variety of domestic and cross-border project financings (including bank debt, ECA-insured lending, private placements and 144A/Reg S debt issuances), acquisitions and restructuring in various industries and sectors. Mr. Howard received his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland. He is based in New York.

Douglas Howell is a member of the Global Corporate/M&A Group. He represents US and international clients in a broad range of public and private corporate matters across a wide range of industries, including cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance and general corporate matters. He also advises private equity firms and their portfolio companies on the full range of transactions during all stages of the investment life cycle, as well as strategic and private equity clients on securities and capital markets transactions, carve-outs, restructurings, shareholder activism, spinoffs and other significant transactions. Mr. Howell received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Howard University School of Law, where he was Henry Ramsey Dean’s Fellow and a Senior Articles Editor for the Howard Law Journal, and his B.S./B.A., cum laude, from the University of Richmond. He is based in New York.

Brian Kinney is a member of the Financial Restructuring Group. He regularly represents secured creditors, debtors, statutory and ad hoc committees, and other parties in chapter 11 cases, international insolvencies, and out-of-court restructurings. Mr. Kinney received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A. from Wesleyan University. He is based in New York.

Moritz Lichtenegger is a member of the European Antitrust & Competition practice. He specializes in German and European antitrust law, in particular in conducting merger control, antitrust fine and abuse proceedings at the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office. He studied law at the University of Heidelberg, the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK) and the University of Munich and obtained his doctorate degree, summa cum laude, at the University of Zurich (Switzerland). He is based in Munich.

Elizabeth A. Martinez is a member of the Alternative Investments Practice. Her practice includes representing clients in structuring customized derivatives transactions, including risk management and credit enhancement structures involving derivatives and tailored hedging facilities in project finance, acquisition finance and asset finance matters. Ms. Martinez received her J.D. and L.L.M. (International and Comparative Law) from Duke University School of Law where she served as a member of the Community Enterprise Clinic, the Latin American Law Students Association and as an editor of the Duke Journal of International and Comparative Law, and her B.A., with honors, from Johns Hopkins University. She is based in New York.

Eugene Park is a member of the Alternative Investments Practice. He represents borrowers, equity sponsors and opportunistic credit investors in a wide range of liability management matters, opportunistic and distressed financings, and restructurings. Mr. Park received his J.D. from University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. from Syracuse University. He is based in New York.

Andrew Porter is a member of the Litigation & Arbitration Group. He represents clients in federal and state court in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters. He has significant experience representing clients in a broad range of industries including media and entertainment, insurance, and financial services. Mr. Porter received his J.D. from University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. from University of Connecticut. He is based in New York.

Leah Socash is a member of the Trusts, Estates and Exempt Organizations Group. Ms. Socash’s practice focuses on developing, implementing and administering a wide variety of sophisticated planning techniques for individuals, families and fiduciaries. She has extensive experience advising on gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, charitable planning, succession planning, complex estate administration, and trust and fiduciary matters. Ms. Socash received her J.D., summa cum laude and with highest honors, from the George Washington University Law School where she was named to the Order of the Coif and served on the George Washington Law Review, her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, summa cum laude, and an M.S. from Pace University. She is based in New York.

Brett Stone is a member of the Alternative Investments Practice. His practice includes a broad spectrum of representing lenders and borrowers in domestic and cross-border financing transactions. Mr. Stone received his J.D., cum laude, from George Washington University Law School where he served as an editor for the Public Contracts Law Journal, and his B.A., summa cum laude, from SUNY College at Old Westbury where he was a recipient of the President’s Medal for Scholarship. He is based in New York.

Kristine Wang is a member of the Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. Her practice focuses on renewable energy and infrastructure project financings, representing financial institutions and other project participants. Ms. Wang earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law where she was a copy editor for the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice and a legal writing fellow for the Legal Research, Writing and Advocacy Program, and her B.A., cum laude, from New York University, College of Arts and Sciences. She is based in Los Angeles.
