Primary Focus & Experience
Moritz Lichtenegger specializes in both German and European competition law, in particular advising in relation to merger control procedures, cartel and dominance investigations, competition litigation, antitrust aspects of distribution law and compliance.
Selected Project Samples
- Defending a leading manufacturer of power cables in relation to the investigation of the European Commission and court proceedings before the European courts with regard to an alleged cartel in the market for power cables.
- Advising a leading food company with respect to cartel follow-on damages claims against sugar suppliers.
- Defending a former general manager in relation to investigations of the German Federal Cartel Office with regard to an alleged illegal information exchange.
Recognition & Accomplishments
Before joining Milbank, Moritz Lichtenegger worked several years part-time in the Munich office of a major German law firm. He studied law at the universities of Heidelberg, Munich and at the London School of Economics and Political Science and obtained his doctorate degree at the university of Zurich (Switzerland).
He regularly serves as a lecturer at DAA (DeutscheAnwaltAkademie).
Moritz Lichtenegger is admitted to the German bar and speaks German and English.
