Milbank LLP received three 2024 “Deal of the Year” awards at the IJGlobal Asia Pacific Awards event held on April 9, 2025, in Singapore. The IJGlobal Awards focus on the infrastructure and energy sectors.
Milbank transactions were honored in the following categories:
Sustainability Linked Loan of the Year, APAC. Milbank represented the finance parties in the up to $1.44 billion financing of AdaniConneX’s portfolio of hyperscale data centers to be built in India. The transaction marks India’s largest sustainability-linked data center financing, which provides for margin adjustments when certain key performance indicators around power usage effectiveness, the use of renewable electricity and safety goals are achieved. The Milbank team was led by James Orme and special counsel Rosaline Yusman, and included associates Zhen Yang Kua, Deirdre Swift and Wei Sheng Lee.
Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year, APAC. Milbank represented the finance parties on the financing of a 98MW data center in Johor, Malaysia, being developed by Yondr Group. The project is the first phase of a 72.5-acre data center campus that will deliver up to 340 megawatts of critical IT capacity when fully complete, making it one of the largest and most technologically advanced data centers in Asia Pacific. The Milbank team was led by partners James Orme, David Zemans and Dan Bartfeld, and included special counsel Rosaline Yusman, of counsel Desiree Woo, and associates Deirdre Swift, Wei Sheng Lee, An Guo, Kris Singh, Denisa Neagoe and Jade du Berry.
Export Finance Deal of the Year, APAC. Milbank advised the lenders in connection with a US$1 billion equivalent green SACE push covered financing. The loan was provided to finance Reliance Industries Limited’s capital expenditure in relation to certain eligible green projects in various industries, ranging from solar cell manufacturing facilities to green hydrogen production. The transaction also was named a TXF Export Finance “Perfect 10 Deal of the Year.” The Milbank team was led by partner Munib Hussain and included associates Yi Ming Chan, Chrisangelina Lo and Chris Esposito.
