Danielle Lee Sauer

Primary Focus & Experience

Ms. Sauer’s litigation practice focuses on a wide range of complex commercial and financial restructuring matters. She has experience representing debtors, creditors’ committees, ad hoc groups, private equity sponsors, and other entities in restructuring matters, both in and out of court. Ms. Sauer has also represented clients in white collar criminal and regulatory matters and internal investigations. Ms. Sauer’s significant representations include:

• Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A., et al. as chapter 11 debtors (S.D.N.Y.)

• Ad hoc group of lenders in Careismatic Brands LLC’s chapter 11 cases (D. Del.)
• Series B Preferred Holders in Celsius Network LLC’s chapter 11 cases (S.D.N.Y.)
• Gemstone Solutions Group Inc. (formerly known as Gymboree Group, Inc.) as chapter 11 debtors (E.D.Va.)

Ms. Sauer maintains an active and diverse pro bono practice involving, among other matters, immigration issues, civil rights issues, and juvenile LWOP resentencing.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Ms. Sauer received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University and her B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Ms. Sauer has been a speaker for students at Vanderbilt University Law School, Michigan Law School, Georgetown University Law Center, the George Washington University Law School, Howard University School of Law, and Virginia Tech. Ms. Sauer also has been a presenter in numerous training programs for incoming and developing Milbank associates.

Ms. Sauer has won Milbank’s Pro Bono Achievement award six times and is on the DC Bar’s pro bono honor roll. Ms. Sauer was also recognized as a “Mentoring Star” at Milbank in 2024.
