Primary Focus & Experience
Ben has experience of complex commercial litigation in the English Courts, as well as international arbitration and regulatory investigations. He also advises clients in relation to economic sanctions and is a member of the firm’s Global Risk & National Security Practice.
Key experience includes:
- Acting for a Brazilian power plant owner/operator in an ICC arbitration pricing dispute arising from an LNG supply contract.
- Acting for a leading international bank in defending claims of unlawful means conspiracy arising out of the acquisition of a Ugandan banking business.
- Acting for claimants in High Court proceedings relating to a ship financing fraud.
- Acting for a leading international bank in defending a High Court claim brought by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on behalf of several failed US banks in relation to alleged infringements of competition law and misrepresentations arising out of the setting of USD LIBOR.
- Advising corporate and financial institution clients in relation to UK and EU sanctions against Russia, including in relation to transferable securities, imports/exports and asset freezes against designated persons.
- Acting for a fund in connection with an urgent injunction application.
