Alex Martin is a partner in the London office of Milbank in the Alternative Investments Practice.

Primary Focus & Experience

Alex has experience advising on a wide range of structured finance transactions, including securitizations across a variety of asset classes, asset-backed and fund financing transactions, private credit portfolio financing transactions, and all related regulatory aspects.

Alex has particular expertise with collateralized loan obligation transactions (CLOs), the establishment and operation of CLO equity funds, and credit portfolio financings. He represents a number of leading global CLO managers, asset managers, credit funds, and bank arrangers.

Recognition and Accomplishments

Alex is recognized as a “standout lawyer that is always caring for the best outcome for his clients” by Legal 500 UK and is ranked Band 3 by Chambers & Partners UK where he is “noted for his work on CLOs for a cultivated client list of influential managers”. Alex was named as a rising star for structured finance by Law360 in 2023 and by Business Today as one of the top 10 CLO lawyers in London in 2023. Alex is a regular speaker on CLO and structured finance panels, appearing at Creditflux, Opal, AFME and IMN conferences.
