Firm Elects Five New Partners Across its US and European Offices Spanning Corporate, Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance and Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Practices

Milbank LLP is pleased to announce the internal promotion of five new partners effective January 1, 2021. The group comprises attorneys across the firm’s corporate, capital markets, leveraged finance and project, energy and infrastructure finance practices.

The new partners are:

Randy Nahlé is a member of the European Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets group in London. He advises on international capital markets and finance transactions with a focus on high yield debt securities and leveraged finance. Mr. Nahlé has advised and represented corporate issuers, private equity firms and investment banks on a wide variety of debt and equity offerings and private placements, acquisition financings/LBOs, tender offers and other liability management exercises, general corporate matters and compliance with US securities laws. He has been recognized as a “Next Generation Partner” in Legal 500 UK in High Yield and ranked in Chambers UK for Capital Markets: High Yield Products. He received his J.D. from Georgetown Law, a dual Master’s degree (LL.M equivalent) from Sciences Po Law School and the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and a B.A. from the American University of Beirut.

Iliana Ongun is a member of the Corporate group, based in New York. Ms. Ongun advises public and private companies in a wide range of industries in connection with mergers and acquisitions, including cross-border and domestic acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, private equity transactions, recapitalizations and spin-offs. She also advises companies and sponsors with respect to shareholder activism, takeover defense strategies and other corporate governance matters. She is Secretary of the New York City Bar Association Committee on Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Control Contests. She has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine. Ms. Ongun received her B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Spencer Pepper is a member of the Leveraged Finance group, based in New York. Mr. Pepper represents banks, direct lenders and borrowers in a broad range of lending transactions. He has experience advising clients in domestic and cross-border acquisition financings, recapitalizations, mezzanine financings and debt restructurings. Mr. Pepper received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.S. from Cornell University.

Aaron Stine is a member of the Corporate group, based in New York. Mr. Stine represents private equity firms, as well as public and private companies, in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings and other corporate transactions. Mr. Stine has advised clients in stock and asset deals and other transactional matters in industries such as healthcare, telecommunications, gaming, grocery, real estate, power and energy and infrastructure. His practice focuses primarily on transactions involving renewable and clean energy assets, power generation and transmission assets, and other power, energy and infrastructure assets located in the United States and overseas. In 2019 and 2020, Mr. Stine was ranked as an Associate to Watch for Corporate/M&A in Chambers USA: New York. Mr. Stine attended George Washington University Law School on a Presidential Merit Scholarship. He was a George Washington Scholar (2007-2010) and graduated Order of the Coif.

Chris Taufatofua is a member of the Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance group, based in London. Mr. Taufatofua has developed significant expertise in advising lenders, sponsors, governments and contractors on a variety of international transactions in the energy, power, infrastructure and renewables sectors. He received his law degree and his business degree from Queensland University of Technology. Mr. Taufatofua is named a “Next Generation Partner” for Emerging Markets by Legal 500 and a “Hall of Fame: Rising Star” - Power, Electricity, Nuclear, and Renewables by Legal 500.
