Milbank LLP Financial Restructuring partner Nicholas Dunstone will chair the South-East Asia Spotlight panel at the INSOL International Singapore Seminar on August 27, 2024.
The panel will explore the dynamic landscape of restructuring and insolvency within South-East Asia, including the progress of the major reforms introduced in Singapore in recent years to achieve Singapore’s ambition of becoming an international debt restructuring hub. A comparative analysis will also explore the evolution of restructuring and insolvency regimes across South-East Asian markets, including Malaysia and Indonesia. Through discussion of important cases across the region, the panel will additionally consider the use of schemes and moratoriums, attracting new capital into distressed situations, cross-border dynamics, the role of the judiciary and the use of formal insolvency tools in achieving successful outcomes.
