Milbank LLP’s Hong Kong office managing partner James Grandolfo will Co-Chair the 8th annual Practising Law Institute’s Annual Institute on Corporate & Securities Law to take place in Singapore on October 2-3 at the ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay. Mr. Grandolfo will also moderate a session on October 3rd titled “U.S. Regulatory Developments Impacting Asia.” The session will explore topical US regulatory and enforcement developments affecting international securities practice in Asia, including key takeaways from recent Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) FCPA enforcement actions. The session’s speakers will also discuss the DOJ’s revision to its Corporate Enforcement Policy and its statements on monitorships and effective compliance programs, explain the expanding use of sanctions as a foreign policy tool, and analyze the extra-territorial reach of US securities law.
Davide Mencacci, head of Milbank’s Leverage Finance practice in Asia, will moderate a session on October 2nd titled “Financing Mergers & Acquisitions in Asia.” The session will cover current trends in financing mergers & acquisitions in Asia, including key trends in LBO financings, as well as the outlook for the future of acquisition finance in Asia. Mr. Mencacci and his co-panelists will also discuss both the significance of US liquidity for Asian buyouts, and the impact of new sponsors and financiers in the Asian LBO market.
