Primary Focus & Experience

Sol has extensive experience in the representation of project sponsors and financial institutions on a range of US, Latin American and other cross-border project financings and acquisitions across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Her recent representations include:

• International lending group in a $624 million financing facility for Sonnedix’s acquisition of Chilean renewable energy producer Arcadia Generacion Solar and its four operating photovoltaic plants from Enel Chile.
• Valia Energía, one of the largest private energy generation platforms in Mexico, in connection with a $530 million bond financing and related working capital facility by Buffalo Energy Mexico Holdings, S.A. de C.V., Buffalo Energy Infrastructure, S.A. de C.V. and Buffalo Energy, S.A. de C.V., as co-issuers.
• Proman in a limited recourse syndicated financing of an ammonia fertilizer plant in Topolobampo, Mexico.
• SUSI Partners in a debt financing for a 107 MW Chilean portfolio of solar photovoltaic projects.
• BNP Paribas in a project financing in connection with the supply of 265 Euro VI diesel buses to VOY, the public transportation operator in Santiago, Chile.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Sol Avalos earned her L.L.M. from Columbia University and her J.D. equivalent from Universidad Catolica de Asuncion. She is a native Spanish speaker.
