Sean Imfeld

Primary Focus & Experience

As a member of the firm's Trusts & Estates Group, Mr. Imfeld's practice focuses on developing, implementing, and administering complex estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning techniques for individuals and families. He provides advice and guidance regarding domestic and international estate planning matters, and he assists with disputes involving trusts and estates.

Mr. Imfeld's practice also includes advising clients on income tax issues and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, counseling executors and trustees regarding their fiduciary duties and the administration of large estates and trusts, and representing clients in estate and gift tax audits.

Mr. Imfeld is currently a member of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Mr. Imfeld is recognized by a number of leading publications. He was named a “2022 Rising Star” by Legal Media Group’s Expert Guides, a “Rising Star” by Euromoney Legal Media Group in its 2022 Americas Awards and he was listed as an “Associate to Watch” by Chambers HNW in 2023, 2022 and 2021. He graduated summa cum laude from Saint Leo University and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. While at Harvard Law School, Mr. Imfeld was an Executive Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal.
