Robbie Hay is an associate in the London office of Milbank LLP and a member of the firm's Global Corporate Group.

Primary Focus & Experience

Robbie specializes in private equity transactions but has a variety of experience across the spectrum of corporate M&A. Robbie has worked on various forms of domestic and cross-border M&A in a wide range of sectors, including both buy-side and sell-side mandates, leveraged buyouts (primary and secondary), portfolio company bolt-on acquisitions, and management incentive structuring schemes.

Robbie has recently represented:

  • A consortium of lenders on the consensual restructuring of the Dümmen Orange Group, a leading global breeder and propagator of ornamental flowers and plants, via the acquisition of the equity ownership from BC Partners
  • The shareholders of BETA CAE Systems International AG, a leading provider of multi-domain engineering simulation solutions, on the sale to Cadence Design Systems, Inc. for $1.24 billion
  • Intermediate Capital Group on the sale of UK-based digital transformation business 6Point6**
  • Intermediate Capital Group on the sale of, and reinvestment in, UK-based asset management data business With Intelligence**
  • Investindustrial on their investment in the cross-border European online pharmaceutical business Atida*
  • VetPartners, a portfolio company of BC Partners, on the expedited divestment of certain assets to Linnaeus Veterinary Group*
  • Mount Anvil Group on the acquisition of Ares' interest in its property joint venture*
  • Growth Capital Partners on its investment in, and subsequent sale of, the consultancy business Chaucer Group*
  • The founders and management team of finance/technology business Account Technologies on the sale of a minority interest in their business to US investment fund Atalaya Capital*
  • Investindustrial on its acquisition of UK car manufacturer Morgan Motors*
  • Tangerine Confectionery, a Blackstone portfolio company, on the carve-out and subsequent sale of the Butterkist popcorn business to KP Snacks*
  • Blackstone on the sale of Tangerine Confectionery to Valeo Foods*
