Primary Focus & Experience

Ms. Martins’ practice focuses on the representation of project sponsors and financial institutions on a range of US and cross-border project financings. 

Ms. Martins' recent experience includes the representation of:

• The Borrower/Issuer on a US private placement to finance the construction and operation of a $497.5MW portfolio of small photovoltaic projects in Chile;
• The Purchasers/Lenders in a $200 million private placement financing and 105M credit facility for the construction and operation of a 94.3MW utility-scale photovoltaic project and a 95.9MW portfolio of small photovoltaic projects in Chile;
• The Lenders on $705 million credit facilities for the construction, operation and development of a portfolio of 6,2 GW photovoltaic projects and 4,7GW battery storage facilities in the US; and
• The commercial lenders and export credit agencies (including EKF and Finnvera) in connection with a $346.2 million project financing for the Araguaia greenfield nickel mining project in Brazil.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Ms. Martins is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and earned her LL.B from Rio de Janeiro State University (Uerj). She holds an LL.M from Columbia Law School. Pilar is a native Portuguese speaker and is fluent in English.
