Primary Focus & Experience
As a member of the firm’s Transportation and Space Group, Mr. Greenfield advises clients on regulatory, corporate and transactional matters involving telecommunications, spacecraft, advanced technology, digital infrastructure, ground station, fiber, cellular tower, undersea cable, datacenter and other complex assets. Mr. Greenfield has extensive experience structuring and negotiating service agreements, strategic collaboration agreements, purchase and lease agreements, and other commercial agreements relating to such assets; providing industry-specific regulatory and transactional guidance to banks, investment firms, and hedge funds on financings, capital markets transactions, securitizations and financial restructurings involving such assets; and advising communications companies, satellite operators, ground station providers, launch service providers, and in-space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing service providers on Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and international licensing and compliance issues.
As a member of the firm’s Global Risk & National Security Practice, Mr. Greenfield advises a variety of clients on compliance with, and legal and enforcement risks arising under, various US regulatory regimes applicable to cross-border investment and business activities, including: US economic sanctions implemented by the US Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the US Department of State; US export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) implemented by the US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) implemented by the US Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC); US national security reviews conducted by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), Team Telecom and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA); and US anti-corruption laws and regulations, including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977.
