Primary Focus & Experience
Ms. Dexter’s practice focuses on restructuring, bankruptcy, and distressed situations. She has represented debtors, creditors’ committees, lenders, funds, and borrowers in all aspects of financial restructuring, both in and out of bankruptcy court.
Ms. Dexter’s significant representations include:
- Ambac Assurance Corporation, monoline bond insurer, in the bankruptcy cases of Puerto Rico and its public corporations, the first cases brought under the PROMESA restructuring law (D.P.R)
- Convertible noteholders of Ascent Capital Group in a fraudulent transfer action to enjoin the company’s proposed transfer of assets to its operating subsidiary, Monitronics International (Delaware Chancery Court)
- Steering committee of lenders to Education Management Corporation in opposing an injunction against a lender-supported, out-of-court restructuring (S.D.N.Y.)
- Affiliates of Oaktree Capital Management as secured lenders and DIP lenders to Molycorp, chapter 11 debtor, in lender-supported plan confirmation (Bankr. D. Del.)
- Avianca S.A. as chapter 11 debtor in successful plan confirmation and related litigation (Bankr. S.D.N.Y.)
- OneWeb Global Limited as chapter 11 debtor in successful plan confirmation (Bankr. S.D.N.Y.)
