Milbank LLP Financial Restructuring partner Nelly Almeida will speak on a bankruptcy-focused panel at the Elevating Partners of Color Virtual Summit, hosted by Black In-House Counsel, on October 13. Ms. Almeida will be joined by moderator Larry Young of AlixPartners, and fellow panelists David Crichlow of Katten, Mike Smart of Dominus Capital, and Keith Wofford of White & Case.
The panel will explore basic principles of debt restructuring or recapitalization in the 2022–2023 economic climate, understanding tactical issues around restructuring, anticipating contractual issues, and recent trends in bankruptcy litigation, including debtors’ increased use of Plan Support Agreements at the outset of Chapter 11 cases and inter-creditor disputes and the import of inter-creditor agreements to protect junior/subordinated creditors’ rights.
The Elevating Partners of Color Summit will showcase law firm partners of color before an audience of in-house counsel.
