Milbank LLP supports the institute for Sustainability, Business Law and Reporting (INUR) at the University of Cologne in its research on sustainability aspects in corporate law. Milbank actively contributes by supporting the funding of a research assistant and through constant exchange of expertise with the institute and the network.
INUR was founded in 2022 by the Faculty of Law at the University of Cologne. The institute deals with corporate law aspects related to sustainability in an interdisciplinary manner. This includes topics such as corporate governance, liability law, reporting, auditing and taxation. INUR is committed to an intensive dialogue with experts from the business community. The board of directors consists of the members Prof. Dr. Joachim Hennrichs (managing director), Prof. Dr. Johanna Hey, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Barbara Dauner-Lieb, Prof. Dr. Jens Koch and PD Dr. Moritz Pöschke, LL.M. (Harvard).
The research assistant funded by Milbank works at the institute in Cologne and deals with topics such as forms of company law and corporate law aspects of climate lawsuits and is supported in its work by a close professional exchange with Milbank. In addition, Milbank will also cooperate with INUR through joint lectures and events as well as mentoring of dissertations.
