Milbank Receives Three IJGlobal Europe ‘Deal of the Year’ Awards

Milbank LLP received three “Deal of the Year” awards at the IJGlobal Europe Awards event held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in London. The IJGlobal Awards focus on the infrastructure and energy sectors.

Milbank transactions were honoured in the following categories:

Power to X Deal of the Year – Stegra Green Steel Plant. Milbank LLP advised Stegra in connection with the financing of the company’s first-of-its-kind up to 2.5 million tonne per annum green steel manufacturing facility in Boden-Luleå, Sweden. The facility will incorporate a European first giga-scale green hydrogen plant, which will power the facility’s green steel production.

Water Deal of the Year – John Laing, Stegra Boden Water Treatment Plant. Milbank advised Stegra on the financing of a project to deliver an end-to-end solution for all water management needs at Stegra’s flagship green steel plant in Boden Sweden.

Power & Transmission Deal of the Year – ACWA Kirikkale CCGT. Milbank advised the senior finance parties (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Finance Corporation, The Export-Import Bank of Korea, Standard Chartered Bank and Akbank T.A.Ş) in connection with the restructuring of ACWA GÜÇ’s senior debt incurred in relation to the project financing of the ACWA Power Combined Cycle Gas Power Plant in Kırıkkale, Türkiye.
