Milbank LLP’s Financial Restructuring London partner Kate Colman spoke on a panel titled “Guerrillas in our midst: international actions to thwart UK restructurings” at the GRR Live: Contentious Insolvency and Restructuring Conference in London on 20 November 2024. Ms. Colman was joined by Oliver Rule, partner, Enyo Law and Ben Shaw KC, barrister, Erskine Chambers. The panel was moderated by Georgina Peters, barrister, South Square.
The panel took a deep dive into the challenges to UK restructuring processes via guerrilla “back-door” action. It also explored whether UK processes have suffered from the lack of asserted extraterritorial effect, especially post-Brexit.
