Milbank LLP partner John Beahn will speak on a panel titled “High Stakes, Time Sensitive Decisions: The Biggest ‘What Ifs’ Affecting the Fate of Short, Medium and Long Term Transactions” at the 10th National Conference on CFIUS on April 11, 2024 in Washington, DC. Foreign direct investment remains a critical source of capital for US business and the nation’s economy, and foreign investors are encountering an increasingly complex US national security environment for their deals.
Mr. Beahn and the other panelists will examine the strategic decisions that US businesses and foreign investors must make in structuring their transactions and navigating reviews of those transactions by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and other related national security authorities. The panelists will also review the current CFIUS landscape and provide insights into recent trends and best practices for transaction parties.
Mr. Beahn, a partner in Milbank’s Washington, DC office, focuses his practice on matters related to CFIUS and other foreign direct investment issues. Mr. Beahn has successfully represented domestic and foreign clients, including purchasers, sellers, investors, private equity sponsors and consortia and other institutional and state-affiliated investors in transactions and investments subject to clearance by CFIUS and other national security authorities.
