Milbank LLP Litigation & Arbitration partner Stacey Rappaport spoke at the Association of Life Insurance Counsel (ALIC) annual meeting on May 20 in Naples, Florida. Ms. Rappaport spoke on the “AI & Evolving Technology: Surveying the Current Litigation Landscape and Looking Ahead” panel.
The panel provided an update on current trends in AI and technology-related litigation, including several recent suits filed in the insurance industry advancing claims based on allegedly improper uses of AI and other new technologies. The panelists also discussed how life insurance companies are and should be thinking about these issues and applying lessons learned. Ms. Rappaport was joined by Susan Gittes and Jim Pastore of Debevoise & Plimpton.
