Milbank LLP senior associate Emily Whittaker was recognized by IFLR Europe as a “Rising Star” at the IFLR Europe Awards dinner held on 24 April 2024, which marked 25 years of celebrating legal innovation and excellence in Europe.
The Rising Stars Award recognizes the outstanding work being done by the region's emerging leaders. The winners are lawyers who have risen to prominence within their respective fields.
Ms. Whittaker is a member of the Global Projects, Energy and Infrastructure practice based in London. She advises both lenders and sponsors on the development, financing and restructuring of a broad range of international and cross-border projects across a variety of industry sectors, including traditional energy, transitional energy, infrastructure and mining projects.
Recently, Ms. Whittaker has advised H2 Green Steel in connection with the $4 billion development and financing of its hydrogen and green steel manufacturing facility in Northern Sweden; the MFIs, ECAs and commercial banks in connection with the development and €800m financing of AESC's battery gigafactory in France; and National Bank of Greece S.A. and Piraeus Bank S.A in connection with the provision of the €680m project bond financing for the development of the Skouries mine in Northern Greece.
