The event, held in Milbank’s Hudson Yards office in New York City, brought together key space and satellite industry professionals for a panel discussion, an industry keynote and a networking reception.
Euroconsult’s Nathan de Ruiter opened with a Space Situational Awareness (SSA) market overview and forecast, discussing the current congestion situation, space debris, mega-constellations, SSA market drivers and more. The SSA panel discussion was moderated by Milbank Transportation and Space partner Dara Panahy, and included Walt Everetts of Iridium Communications, Chris Blackerby of Astroscale, Chris Kemp of Astra, and Merissa Velez of the Federal Communications Commission. The event also featured Robert Sproles, Vice President of Operations and Constellation Planning of Spire Global, who delivered a keynote on sustainability on earth. He discussed providing global data, analytics and space services for space companies focused on the future of the planet; leveraging space for sustainability; mitigating and understanding climate change; and sustainability in orbit.
