Milbank LLP represented independent global infrastructure investor I Squared Capital (and its portfolio companies) on the reorganization of their city gas distribution businesses and the subsequent investment by a consortium of leading Japanese investors of a minority stake in AG&P, a leading city gas distribution business.
The Japanese consortium consisted of Osaka Gas, the second-largest city gas distributor in Japan, Sumitomo Corporation, one of Japan’s largest trading houses, and Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN), a Japanese government-private sponsored infrastructure investment fund.
“We’re pleased to partner with I Squared Capital on this very complex cross-border investment, which is a landmark transaction at an important time of critical energy transition deal flow and development,” said partner Jacqueline Chan.
The Milbank team was led by Ms. Chan with associate Hua Chan, and included special counsel Min Kim and associates Stephanie Kam, Erin Zhang and Wei Sheng Lee, with support from antitrust partner Andrea Hamilton.
